United States of Amrica has a large number of cities, but there are very few cities that can be addressed old and rich. Detroit is one of these cities with a history that is truly unique and interesting. The city was developed from a missionary outpost and French fort in the year 1701. The city experienced a disastrous fire outbreak in the year 1805, which literally destroyed the entire city. And this is the main reason why we have do not have much of evidence related to the 17′Th and 18′Th century.

After the disaster, Judge Augustus B designed a plan for the city which had interconnecting, diagonal and semi circular roads with evenly placed parks. The traces of the basic outline can still be seen in several places.
In the late 1870's, Detroit grew into a hub of industry and commerce, which led to a development of a class of professionals, entrepreneurs and wealthy industrialists. Slowly, Detroit began to expand rapidly, and people started building houses in the Woodward area.
The year 1899 is of utmost importance in the history of Detroit, as this was the year when Henry Ford built his automobile factory in the region. With the advent of the twentieth century, automobile manufacturing and assembly dominated the city as several entrepreneurs, including Henry Ford explored the automobile industry.
As the automobile industry flourished, it led to an increase in demand for labor which in turn led to increase in population. And today Detroit is one of the bustling cities in America.
