Zoo General Admission

For adult, child aged 15 and up, and senior aged up to 61, the admission prices are $12.

For child aged 2 to 14, the admission is $8.

For senor aged 62 and up, the admission is $10.

For active military (w/ID), the admission is $10.

For child under 2 and membership owners, the admission is free.

After knowing the specific admissions to Detroit Zoo, the next thing you want to know may be how to get discounts on admission. So now we will show you an overall introduction on group admission prices, including non-school groups and school groups.

There are three kinds of non-school groups: groups of 20 and more, of 500 and more, and senior citizen groups for 20 and more persons. For group reservation, you can call 248- 541-5717 and press 3 on Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5pm, and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. For Senior Citizen Groups of 20+, the admission is $8 per person.

Age 15 - 61: $9.5

Age 62+: $8

Age 2 - 14: $6

Age under 2: Free

Groups of 500+:

Age 15 - 61: $8.50

Age 62+: $7.50

School group admission is subject to nursery/pre-school throughout college. For all school groups, there must be one chaperone (aging 18 years and up) for every 10 students and the chaperones should stay with the students during the entire tour. The general admission for school groups is $6 per student and $6 per adult chaperon.

In addition, more discounts are provided for school groups from Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County. Under this circumstances, the general admission is $4 per for both students and chaperons.

(Please Note: If you are driving to the zoo, the parking fees are collected at Admissions. Parking rates are $5 for per car/van, and $8 for per bus.)
