The Opera House is a true work of art and they have managed to keep up over time. The frescoes, marble stairways, draperies and chandeliers from its glory days have been restored. And it's equipped with superb acoustics and comfortable seats for the world-class art enjoyment.
It's located at 1526 Broadway St, Detroit, MI 48226 and bordered by the Theatre District, Comerica Park and Greektown. It covers one city block between Witherell, John R, Broadway and Madison.
Visitors who prefer driving for their art enjoyment have no need to worry about parking. The Detroit Opera House Parking Center with 725 spaces can get any parking problem easily solved.
The parking center is directly across the street from the Detroit Opera House, Detroit Beer Company, Simmons and Clark Jewelers, Angelina's Italian Bistro and the YMCA. The seven-level building contains a parking management office and a security center for the entire Opera House complex. You can expect well lighted, 24-hour security for your vehicles, high-speed elevators and ATM indoors (National City Bank).
It has entrances on John R Street and Grand River Avenue. You can identify the parking structure as a component of the Detroit Opera House through its neoclassical style theatrical architecture.
Prepaid parking is available for opera, dance, and other events and the prices vary accordingly. Reserve parking when you purchase tickets online or call (313) 237-7464 to prepay.
If you drive to the Opera House regularly, then Monthly Pass will be the best choice.
- Reserved VIP Monthly Pass charges $125. You can get your own parking space in a private section of a lower floor. 24/7 access and 24/7 security are guaranteed. It's applicable to all Lions games, Tigers games and all Opera House events.
- Unreserved Monthly Pass is $75 per month for 24/7 access, 24/7 security. It doesn't include Lions games, Tigers games, operas and events.
Detroit Opera House also offers game day parking for Red Wings, Lions and Tigers.
- The Detroit Red Wings, a professional ice hockey team based in Detroit, currently plays home games in the Joe Louis Arena. For the entire season of Red Wings home games, you need to pay $599 for VIP reserved parking, $450 for season unreserved parking in Detroit Opera House.
- Ford Field is an indoor football stadium and the current home field of the National Football League's Detroit Lions, members of the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Opera House offers $300 season parking for all Detroit Lions home games.
- The major League Baseball team Detroit Tigers began to play its games in Comerica Park since 2000. If you drive to watch their games, you can park in the Detroit Opera House. Tiger season parking charges $450.
Unreserved game day parking fees are just $10-25 for games of Red Wings and Tigers, and $30 for Lions.

Sports fans can also make use of the convenient surface lot of the Opera House. The fee is $30 per spot per game. Plus valet parking is available to General Director's Circle members and Dance Patron Circle members.
