Taking the place of historic Tiger Stadium in 2000, Comerica Park has become a leading ballpark in Detroit. Some visitors even regard it as the best ballpark in the country. As an open-air ballpark, it serves as the home of the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball's American League.

Set in the heart of downtown, the ballpark is situated at 2100 Woodward Avenue, just south of I-75 (Fisher Freeway) and directly across the street from the Fox Theatre. Parking may be a big concern for those who want to drive to the location. There are about 4,500 parking spaces surrounding Comerica Park operated by Olympia Entertainment. These parking spaces are open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Parking facility is usually open two hours before game time. Vehicles will be directed into spaces. Generally speaking, reserving spaces is not allowed. However, there are a limited number of reserved parking spaces for the season for Luxury Suites, On-Deck Circle, Club Seat and regular season ticket holders. ADA compliant parking spaces are available at Olympia Entertainment parking facility. The handicapped parking spaces in the reserved parking facilities are available for guests with the appropriate reserved area parking permit and a state issued license plate or placard. A designated handicapped parking area will be created only on game days. Located just outside Columbia Avenue entrance to Comerica Park (Gate A), the area is accessible from Woodward Avenue and Elizabeth Street. These spaces are available for guests with a state issued license plate or placard plus verification of ownership of the plate or placard.

Free bus parking is available on the eastbound I-75 Service Drive, between the Service Drive and Mack. It is also on a first-come and first served basis. So arrive early. For tour/group bus drivers, you need to drop off and pick up passengers on the east side of Comerica Park, along Brush Street, from Montcalm to Adams.

Other means of transportation: If you don't want to drive to the Comerica Park, the SMART or DDOT bus can get you into the ballpark for just $3 round trip. If you travel within Detroit, take the DDOT (the Detroit Department of Transportation). For guests who need to travel from suburb to city, use SMART.

As there are thousands of guests attending Comerica Park events, taxicab companies will increase the number of cabs in downtown Detroit on game days. The state-regulated fare is $1.4 for cab entrance fee and $1.4 per mile. Four people can occupy one taxicab. All cabs are required to pick up or drop off guests at the corner of Witherell and Adams, next to the Gate B of Cobo Center.

Some local bars, restaurants, clubs or hotels may provide shuttle services to help take you to the Tiger Games. You can contact your favorite bar or restaurant to check if there is a shuttle service available to the game. If you take these shuttle services, get off at the drop-off area located at the south corner of Withereall and Adams (next to Gate B). Dropping off can occur up to 1.5 hours before game time.
